Coach Howard-Johnson is more than a coach. His attention to character building and development in sports and in the classroom is infectious.
Be assured that he will push you beyond your limits to assist you with getting to the next level in life and in sports. For that, I am grateful and appreciative because of the successes I’ve experienced as a student-athlete when we met over 20 years ago.
Coach Howard-Johnson’s ability to connect to young athletes and work with them to create a “life-plan” not a temporary plan for right now is why I highly recommend him as an important role-model for any student athlete.
He not only uses his words to show he believes in you, but with his carrying attitude, and actions, you can depend on him to be there for you. When we first met, my 9th grade year in High School, I was heading in the wrong direction. With Coach Johnson encouragement, guidance and genuine concern for me as a person, I went from being an average student-athlete to graduating at the top of my class from a prestigious high performing private private school in the Washington, D.C. area. Coach-Howard Johnson invested his time and energy in to me which helped build my confidence as a athlete, and he held me accountable in and out of the classroom, and most important, he helped me create a plan for my future.
22 years later I’m a 2x College Graduate who attended college on an Academic scholarship, as Coach-Howard Johnson instilled in me the importance of believing in myself academically and to utilize my God given athletic abilities as my step stool to strive towards the career I planned for myself.
